Honoring Earth Day

Today, some neighbors and I got together for a community entrance clean up. Stephanie, who lives on Altec Court passed out flyers to the whole neighborhood inviting all to participate at 10: AM. It was to show our community pride and honor Earth Day. Besides myself and Stephanie, there were Cookie, her son, and two grandsons, Juan and his two boys, Clive, Mr. Bill, and a late-comer that I didn't get a name from. We worked until 11:45 and got a lot done. Two pick-ups were filled and about 20 trash bags. I awarded pots of mint plants to the first four to show up. Juan, Mr. Bill, Clive and Stephanie were the grateful winners.

I asked them all to stay until I went home and got my camera to document the occasion. Afterwards, I invited them to view my garden on their way home. Four of them actually did. I enjoyed giving the tour. It was a pleasant morning.
